McCutchen Family History and Genealogy
The McCutchen Trace Association is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian " family association." Membership has been steadily increasing since the founding of the association in 1973. Members include people with the surname McCutchen, McCutcheon, or McCutchan and those who have McCutchen ancestors.
McCutchen Family Newsletter
The McCutchen Trace Association publishes a family newsletter twice a year filled with articles on McCutchen history, genealogy resources, and recent events of interest to McCutchens. Members will receive two issues of the publication per year of membership. To cover the cost of publishing and mailing the magazine a yearly membership fee of $10.00 is charged. A index to the association's back issues is available.Upon payment of membership dues, a new member will receive the most recent issue of the McCutchen Trace Association Newsletter. How Your Family Can Participate
We need your help to put together the family newsletter and driving the content of the webiste.Some ideas:
- If you come across a newspaper article (past or present) that involves a McCutchen (eon,an) from any of the family branches check with the newspaper and if they will allow us to reprint it submit it to the newsletter.
- If you have a lot of older family pictures you may want to ask a grandson or a neighborhood child to scan them for you into the computer and e-mail them to the McCutchen Trace. We are especially interested in photograph collections. Don't let generations of family history become lost in a estate sale!
- If you live near a cemetery with McCutchen family burials take photographs and submit them.
- Keep the editor informed of family births, deaths, and graduations.
- Old letters can be very interesting and full of family history. You can take your old letters to a photocopier and send in the copies.
- If you have information are not able to photocopy, transcribe, or scan please let us know and we will work with you to get the information.
- If you are interested in Genealogy and have a GEDCOM will wil host it on the website.
- If you have a idea for a article on any aspect of the McCutchen Family history please let us know.
