Marilyn Howard Mayhue, 80, of Madison died Wednesday. Mrs. Mayhue had been a resident of Hearthstone Assisted Living since August of 2004. She was a charter member of Christ Church of Monrovia, perpetual member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s ministry (Circle of Faith) and a member of the Encounter Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Mayhue loved to read about history, especially Biblical history. Survivors include her stepdaughter, Linda Knowles of Metarie, LA; several cousins including Lynn and Artie Ashby of Madison, Bill and Peggy McCutchen of Scottsboro, Gene McCutchen of Knoxville, and David and Betty McCutchen of Birmingham and aunts, Betty McCutchen of Florence and Nell Callahan of Fort Belvoire, VA.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Church of Monrovia. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Phelps and the Rev. Wendell Trotter officiating.
